About
Assistive technology should deliver dignity, not just function.
Becky is a user experience design researcher working at the intersection of UX research and human centered design. Trained as a product designer, she builds as fluently as she studies: her craft spans interaction design, room-scale novel interfaces, telepresence robotics, and spatial prototyping, in tools from Figma to Rhino3D and Blender.
At Intel Labs from 2016 to 2022, she was lead designer in the User Experience Innovation Group, where she spearheaded Kid Space, a mixed reality learning environment for children and educators, invented and tested room-scale interaction paradigms, and reframed remote collaboration around presence and nonverbal communication. She then joined Intel's Research and Experience Definition team, leading iterative research with hearing impaired users that turned real-world friction into design and engineering guidance and informed collaboration with external medical device partners.
During a creative sabbatical she designed the telepresence robot that reframed assistive technology from a functional aid into a tool for professional autonomy and social inclusion, founded a freelance 3D modeling and illustration practice helping people represent themselves authentically in virtual reality, and co-founded an industrial design studio. At Access Insights she works where physical and digital meet, bringing AI, mixed reality, and accessibility research into everyday spaces.

Telepresence Robot
Independent practice
Designed an in-person telepresence robot enabling a bed-bound presenter to appear at professional speaking engagements with dignity and control, including interaction models for proxemics, spatial navigation cues, and presence expression.

Hearables on PCs
Intel
Led iterative research with hearing impaired users to uncover real-world challenges in PC interaction. The findings became design and engineering guidance, informed collaboration with external medical device partners, and were published at EPIC in 2023.
